Detect a phishing campaign pretending to technical support MasterCard

Computer security experts have detected a phishing campaign or attempted theft of personal data that is circulating online and that affects any user with email.

Scammers posing as computer support company MasterCard cards and send a mass email to hundreds of email users. In recent 12 hours perpetrators of this hoax have sent almost 6.000 fraudulent emails on behalf of Mastercard Support.

The message says that users of your cards must be downloaded an update of the regulations of the European Union for the use of credit cards.

The email includes an attachment called Actualization.zip, in compressed format, once open includes a form that the user must fill in all the personal data of your credit card or debit card. If the user falls for the scam and send this form cybercriminals will own these personal data included in a file and may be used for fraudulent purposes.

To avoid this type of scam, always make sure the accuracy of such emails. Remember that large companies, sector especially MasterCard, never solicited this way your data, but I would ask for authentication through specialized servers.
